The Diamond is a 10 on the Moh's Scale of Hardness. It is a great stone for use in rings, pendants and earrings. Though they are the hardest natural gemstone they are subject to chipping and fracture when handled roughly. Diamonds should be stored separately from themselves and other jewelery as Diamonds may scratch other jewelery as well as each other.
Untreated Diamonds may be soaked in warm sudsy ammonia for one hour and then rinsed well. Do not place a Treated Diamond in sudsy ammonia as this will ruin the treated finish on your diamond. Clean your treated Diamond with warm water and a soft cloth, avoid ultra sonic cleaners.
